Q: Who is your ‘hair idol’?

A: From a celebrity perspective it would have to be Tabatha Coffee. I love her no nonsense attitude, and she strives for perfection in everything she does. But on a more personal note, my mentors that have taught me everything I know.

Q: In light of Woman’s Day, do you have a special message or beauty tip you would like to share with all the fabulous women out there?

A: I always encourage my clients to reinvent their looks every so often. What better way to feel a boost of confidence, walking out of the salon with a fantastic new style.

Q: When did you open your first salon?

A: When we first started, it was very different. We have moved around a bit during renovations, but have been in this location for 10 years now.

Q: What services do you offer?

A: We offer a wide variety of beauty treatments including laser hair removal, waxing, skin therapy like facials, spray tans, lash extensions and of course manicures and pedicures.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself?

A: I studied at Isa Carsten in 1994 and 1995, followed by two years spent in London, UK. I returned and worked at a salon in Welkom in the Free State, but returned to Stellenbosch the following year.

During that first year I ran the spa completely by myself. I conducted all the treatments, did the admin, answered the telephone and even cleaned the place myself - seven days a week! The following year I was joined by a second therapist who worked with me for four years.

From here the salon kept on growing. We now employ four therapists and a receptionist.

In 2010 I had my first child, but after four months maternity leave I was back giving treatments. My second child was born in 2014 and I decided to take more of a backseat, focus more on the administration and running of the salon, while appointing managers. I also opened a second salon in Somerset West (Adore Day Spa) that year!

Q: Roche, tell us a little about yourself?

A: I am originally from Stellenbosch and also studied at Isa Carstens. As it happens I completed my practical hours at Jenny's salon! I started with her full-time in 2012 and have been here ever since. I was appointed as manager in September last year. But I am not the only employee who have spent years working here! Our former manager worked for Jenny for nine years and we had another therapist who spent 13 years with the salon!

Q: Summer is just around the corner. What can you give a girl to look her best?

A: Any woman wants to look her best from top to toe, especially during the summer. We can help with laser hair removal or waxing, pedicures for the perfect feet, lash extensions that are safe for swimming and spray tans to give you the perfect summer glow. We can also give you the perfect summer manicure to go with your look.

Q: What is the difference between waxing and laser hair removal?

A: Waxing is great in itself, but obviously painful. You also need to wait for the hair to grow before getting a wax. With laser hair removal, you are still allowed to shave, which makes the method perfect for summer. This works really well for stubborn dark hair, but might take some time to really take effect. Luckily we are currently running a special: for every two treatments you book, you get one free. You can thus book six appointments and get two free!

Q: Do you have any other special offers?

A: We offer a loyalty card to all of our customers. We calculate the total spent after ten visits and you then get a 5% discount on all the money spent (excluding products). This is then deducted off your next treatment.

Q: What products do you recommend?

A: We stock a variety of skin care products from RegimeA, Environ and Nimue. Remember to ask about these during your

next visit.

Q: What is the easiest way to book a visit to the salon?
