SALON AZURELLE - August 2019

Brought to you by the Eikestad Mall on-Trend Team

Taking care of one’s hair and maintaining it throughout the year is a thought every woman contemplates every day. With everyone around giving you free and at times unasked for advice and tips, it is a safe option to rely on tried and tested methods that expert hair care specialists suggest.

We spoke to Elle Viljoen from Salon Azurelle. Her extensive experience as a hairstylist comes in handy as she provides tips on haircare and what is trending right now. With daily and weekly haircare routines, that are tried and tested by her personally, she authenticates the efficiency of the methods she suggests so a personal consultation is worth your while.

In celebration of Women’s Month, we asked her a few questions to get to know her and her brand a little better…

Q: When did you first know that hair was your passion?

A: I have always been a creative person, and always wanted a career in which I could express my creativity, it was my aunt's idea to become a stylist, it was love at first Blow-dry!

Q: How many years of experience do you have as a stylist and when did Azurelle open its door for the first time?

A: I have over 15 years’ experience in the industry. We opened on 2nd of May 2017.

Q: What can clients expect from their experience at salon Azurelle?

A: We are inspired by the poetic beauty of hair and the dynamic fashion industry that surround us. Clients can be assured that we are committed to creating the perfect style for each and every person.

Q: What would you say sets you apart from other salons in the area?

A: Every salon is unique and special in its own way. In our industry I believe all salons, including myself and my team, strive to deliver exceptional service by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. What I can say about salon Azurelle is we have a wonderful balance between consistent great service, professionalism with a warm and friendly environment.

Q: What hairstyles, colour and product are trending now?

A: The Long Bob hairstyle with lots of texture is definitely here to stay, and longer hair styles is going to be pumped up with loads of volume. I personally love using my Goldwell soft Volumizer as a pre blow-dry styling spray and finishing off the style with the Goldwell Dry boost. It's a must have this season. It is fantastic for tousled movement and definition. Adds light texture, soft grip and refreshes volume.

Q: What has been the highlight of your career thus far?

A: I would say opening Salon Azurelle, but more so, being in the position to help guide the next generation of stylists.

Q: Who is your ‘hair idol’?

A: From a celebrity perspective it would have to be Tabatha Coffee. I love her no nonsense attitude, and she strives for perfection in everything she does. But on a more personal note, my mentors that have taught me everything I know.

Q: In light of Woman’s Day, do you have a special message or beauty tip you would like to share with all the fabulous women out there?

A: I always encourage my clients to reinvent their looks every so often. What better way to feel a boost of confidence, walking out of the salon with a fantastic new style.

Q: Which upcoming events on the STELLENBOSCH calendar are you looking forward to next, and would you be offering any promotions for the duration?

A: Huisdans is currently high on the student calendar and Matric dances start in September. We are currently running a mid-semester special which ends 31 August. You can check it out on our Facebook or Instagram pages.
